The U2: the University of Portsmouth to Langstone Campus
The U2 is one of the University of Portsmouth's two buses, run by First Bus. It runs between the University and Langstone Campus, both ways, by Fratton Bridge and Milton.
When it runs
Monday to Friday in term time. It doesn't run at weekends, in the University's holidays or on bank holidays.
How to get on
Students travel free, with a pass in the First Bus app:
- Download the First Bus app and set your location to Portsmouth.
- Register for the Student Travel Club with your @myport.ac.uk email address.
- Find the pass under Tickets, then scan it and show your University ID card to the driver as you board.
Without a smartphone, the University's estates helpdesk can arrange another way. The University's buses page has the details and the term dates.

Times, and where the bus is now
First Bus publishes the U2 timetable. UoP Bus, a free iPhone app, shows the next departures from your closest stop, where the buses are on a live map and when to set off, with a reminder before yours leaves.
Free · No account · iPhone with iOS 17 or later
The other line is the U1, the loop round Southsea and Eastney. UoP Bus is an independent app, made by Michael Kimberly Svrcek. It isn't affiliated with the University of Portsmouth or First Bus.
